FEMS App Shelly DIY

1. Introduction

Dear customer,

The FEMS App Shelly DIY is available to you free of charge.
The following instructions explain the installation and functionalities of the app.

You are welcome to send us your suggestions so that we can further improve the quality of our products.

2. Requirements for integration into FEMS

The Shelly Plug …​

  • …​ must be connected to the same network as the FEMS.

  • …​ must have a stable WIFI connection.

  • …​ must be set up via the FENECON Shelly Plug app so that the consumption value can be displayed in the FEMS App Shelly DIY.

2.1. Compatibility

  • Shelly Plug S Gen3

  • Shelly Outdoor Plug S Gen3

  • Shelly Plus Plug S

3. Installation of the FEMS App Shelly DIY

Instructions on the general procedure can be found here.

Select the FEMS App Shelly DIY in the FEMS App Center and click on INSTALL APP:

This window will open:

3.1. Alias

A suitable alias for the Shelly Plug can be assigned here, e. g. living room.

3.2. Connection type

There are two options here:

  1. Manual input
    If you select Manual input and click on OK, you must then enter the IP address of the Shelly Plug manually. The IP of the Shelly Plug can be found in the web interface of your router or the Shelly Smart Control app (see image). You must also select the device type (in this case: Shelly Plug).

The IP address of the FEMS should be set in the router to Always assign the same IPv4 address to this network device.

  1. Automatic
    The FEMS App Shelly DIY lists all Shelly Plugs in the same network.

If the corresponding Shelly Plug was found, select it and click on OK.

3.3. Device/IP address

Depending on whether you have opted for Manual input or Automatic search, the IP entered or the device selected from the list is displayed here.

3.4. Integration as production or consumption meter

Select whether the Shelly Plug is to be used as production and consumption meter. Depending on its use, the corresponding widget (Production or Consumption) will be displayed in the FEMS Online Monitoring later.

Complete the configuration by clicking on INSTALL APP.

4. Flat widget

After successful installation of the FEMS App Shelly DIY, the following flat widget is displayed in the FEMS Online Monitoring, depending on the type of use:

Click on the Shelly Flat widget to open the expanded view.

5. FAQ — FEMS App Shelly DIY

I get the error "SlaveCommunicationFailed" and no measured values are displayed.

This may be due to an incorrectly entered IP address for the Shelly Plug. Check the manually entered IP address and adjust it if necessary.

I receive the message "Device read out does not match selected Shelly model. Check device compatibility and model information.".

This message appears if an incompatible device has been integrated. The FEMS App Shelly DIY is compatible with the following devices:

  • Shelly Plug S Gen3

  • Shelly Outdoor Plug S Gen3

  • Shelly Plus Plug S
