FEMS App Weather

1. Introduction

Dear customer,

The FEMS App Weather is available to you free of charge.
The following instructions explain the installation and functionalities of the app.

You are welcome to send us your suggestions so that we can further improve the quality of our products.

2. Your advantages with the FEMS App Weather

2.1. Installation of the FEMS App Weather

  1. Log in to your FEMS Online Monitoring as the main user (OWNER).

  2. The following pop-up appears automatically:

  • Only main users (OWNERs) can agree to the privacy policy and install the app.

  • For data protection reasons, the FEMS App Weather cannot be installed by your installer. You must give your consent.

  • After approval, location-specific weather data is retrieved to optimize your generation forecast.

  1. Check the box next to "I have taken note of …​ ":

  2. Click/tap on ACCEPT & INSTALL.

  3. The app can now be used.

  • If you do not want to install the FEMS App Weather yet, simply close the pop-up or click/tap on the area outside the pop-up.
    The pop-up will appear again the next time you log in.

  • If you want to install the FEMS App Weather later or not at all, click on REJECT.

  • A later installation would then take place from the App Center. General installation instructions can be found here. There is no need to redeem a license key.

3. PV forecast

By installing the weather app with access to local weather data, we can use an AI system to determine the PV forecast very accurately based on solar radiation.

The storage control is optimized based on the PV forecast and the prices of the Time-of-Use tariff.

The PV forecast is also taken into account when determining the Grid-Optimized Charging.

3.1. Functionality

After installation, this flat widget is displayed in FEMS Online Monitoring:

  • The flat widget displays weather data for the next 24 hours,

  • the hours of sunshine,

  • the current temperature,

  • and the daily lows/highs.

Solar hour
  • Sunshine hours correlate with Production.

  • A solar hour is the time during which the solar radiation is 120 W/m2 or higher.

  • The hours of sunshine in the flat widget are rounded.

  • The icons always represent the worst possible weather. This corresponds to the usual standard of comparable weather forecasts.

If you click/tap on the flat widget, you will see a weekly forecast:
