FEMS Technical Documentation

1. Internet connection

A permanent internet connection for FEMS is recommended. In principle, offline operation is also possible. In this case, however, the following functions cannot be used:

  1. System updates

  2. Installation of new FEMS apps

  3. Transmission of measurement data to FENECON server for remote access

  4. Use of Online Monitoring via the FENECON portal access (e. g. on the go via smartphone)

  5. Maintenance access for FENECON service employees

  6. Use of FEMS apps with third-party services via the internet (e. g. Time-of-use tariffs)

2. Network configuration

In the standard configuration, the FEMS obtains the IP address via a DHCP server (e. g. your router). The network configuration can also be adjusted in Online Monitoring under SettingsNetwork configuration. You can find more information at https://docs.fenecon.de/de/_/latest/fems/ui/settings.html#_netzwerkkonfiguration [here].

3. Firewall

The following services are active on the FEMS and require an Internet connection to the respective target addresses and ports.

4. System update

The FEMS is regularly updated as part of software updates.
These updates can be installed via the SettingsFEMS system update tab.
